5 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

It takes faith and perseverance to trust in things unseen.
Ask yourself:
- What does that look like?
- How do I do that?
- Will I always have a smooth life if I trust in the Lord?
- When I pray, How can I discern what is God's will or my own desires?
Trusting in the Lord means submitting all your ways, your thoughts, and action. Therefore, we have to be more self aware. We as humans, do not always know what to do and majority of us make decisions based on emotions. Relying on our own perceptions, intelligence, or wisdom will lead us astray. We've all had times when we've made mistakes and bad decisions.
When you involve God in everything in your life, He will order your steps through understanding and obeying His scripture. You will have a sense of goodness about your decisions when God is involved in your life. He makes the pathway clear when we seek to know Him more, through His scriptures. It's vital to you apply Gods scripture with actions. When being directed by the Holy Spirit that is filled with love and wisdom. God will use other people to confirm or help direct you along your way.

Humility

7 So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10

It’s not always best to build your identity on materialistic things, strengths, or status. When we are at our lowest point physically, intellectually, psychologically and spiritually; it is the stimulus for divine power. That is where you ignite God’s grace. Paul is not content in every weakness that seems vulnerable, nor does he delight in the weakness himself. Paul delights himself knowing strength is upon Him when pushing through moments of weakness.
