John 4: 10-13

10 Yeshua answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”

11 “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?”

13 Yeshua answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again,14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

In John 4:1-29, the conversation between Yeshua and Samaritan woman was unorthodox during those times. The Samaritan woman is an example of how blind we are as individuals until our eyes are opened by Christ.

In John 4, Yeshua revealed Himself three times:

  1. He is the Living Water – the well that springs life and fills every void within us.
  2. He is a Prophet– stunned by the exposure and truth of her own sin, the Samaritan woman eyes are open to the truth of who Yeshua is.
  3. He is the Messiah – seeks and saves the souls of the lost and misguided. Yeshua is not disturb by our sins.

There will be times when people will not think, agree, or respond like you. We have to be mindful of miscommunication and misguided emotions.

Nowadays, we have social media that is filled with digital bullies, miscommunication, insults, comparisons and more. While it can be good to promote business, post selfies or share your travels. It can take away the essence of human interaction and genuine conversation. Everyone receives information in different ways. So even when someone is explaining or expressing themselves, we have to be aware how we are collecting information. Communication can be easy mislead and perceived.

Questions for self-evaluation:

  • Are you willing to listen and hear?
  • Do you find yourself getting upset for someone having a different opinion than you?
  • Do you believe your thoughts or opinions are always right? Or can you admit your flaws?
  • How would you feel if God responded to you how you treat others?
  • How would you feel if God showed you no grace or patience?

Reading the word of God, will help you make sure your principles and thoughts are aligned. Reading scripture holds wisdom, truth, and knowledge. Yeshua created a new law when He died for our sins. Having the willingness to be more like Yeshua is a satisfying reward.

Yeshua engaged with people who had different opinions and ideas from Him. Yeshua looks beyond our reputation, past, and sees us for where we are. We learn so much when we listen and engage with people. We can learn from testimonies and the experiences of others. It takes one conversation with Yeshua and our life will change for the better. Beautiful things will happen, growth.

23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

John4: 23-24

Strive to love. Seek the truth – from scripture and history. Communicate with love. Listen with love. Be truthful with yourself and patience amongst others.

God will meet you on purpose. He will meet you where you are.
