Spirituality – the quality of being concerned with the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things.
In this day and age, everyone has a different ways of expression. Some people express themselves out of emotions of sadness, anger, or anything that the feel at the time. However, do you really know who you are? My own personal experience, knowing who you are is a journey within itself that is never ending.
Being in-tuned with your spirit and soul is vital in this life, because the world is filled with distractions, filled with good and bad intentions, and filled with lies. God knows the importance of us knowing who we are, especially if we seek Him. We have a conscious and subconscious mind that is the essence who we are. We can consciously know what we are feeling, seeing, and thinking. Also, asking the questions: Have you ever did something and not know why? Why did I make that decision? Why did I move to that town? Why did I agree to something that I really didn’t agree with? Because our subconscious is our the part of the mind (energy field) which we are not fully aware of but makes influences on our decisions and feelings. Our subconscious is like a powerhouse. The same way we can consciously learn and unlearn skills, education, or anything of interest. The same applies the the subconscious, but it takes some work. It takes work to reprogram your subconscious to fully access your mind at a maximum capacity. It’s a journey as well.
Wouldn’t that be a great feeling to have every aspect of your being, in-tuned? Your mind, your spirit, your body, and your soul. Your not confused. Your not frustrated. Your understanding, calm, and peaceful in the mist of anything.
Well here are some beginner things that will help you get to that point.
- Meditation – to calm and clear your mind can improve your concentration and awareness. It helps with regulating your emotions, improves immune system, and stress. Try it. See how long you can do it then practice to extend that time. Also, mediation is really good before you read anything. It allows you to zone in on what your reading.
- Prayer – Now, regardless of what you believe in. Just know that prayer works, specifically if you have the right intentions. Prayers are heard and received when it comes from a pure heart or pure intentions. God will hear and answer you. Just remember to let that dead weight off your shoulders when you do.
- Moving your body – For me in particular this comes in hand with my meditation. I would do some stretching or yoga after meditating. Yoga is a old practice that helps with breathing, stress, lowers depression, inflammation, and more.
- Journaling – I personally have to write everything down. The human brain can only hold a certain amount of information at a time. That’s why writing down your feelings, creating a vision board, goals or challenges. It can also be used as apart of prayer as well. Instead of verbally praying, you can write down your prayers or whatever is on your mind.
Having a strong spiritual outlook on self and of the world, will help you find meaning when life gets difficult. It’s all about interconnectedness of all life to.
