She’s More Than Enough, Embracing God’s Truth

I think it is very important to discuss what God says about us- who we are, what we’re worth, and how to walk with boldness. Three categories that affect everyone in some season of their life is: Self-esteem, Self-confidence, and Self-worth. It affects how we walk with God and how we serve.

Psalm 139:14 – “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

The fact we are wonderfully made is not average nor flawed. That’s divine craftsmanship. There’s no mistake when God created us. We can forget that along the way especially when life occurs – relationships, circumstances, or culture.

  1. Self Worth How we feel about ourselves. It’s your core values and belief that you are valuable simply because you existed. It’s not about your appearance, achievements, roles, or how you treat others.

Psalms 139:14, David acknowledges God intimate involvement in creating him. We all are made with the same consideration by a perfect God.

2. Self Esteem- What we believe we deserve. It’s how you are evaluating your thoughts and feelings about who you are. It’s not thinking you’re better than anyone or arrogance. It’s also not self-hate or playing small to please others.

Romans 12:3 ” For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgement, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.”

3. Self-Confidence What we believe we can do. This is your belief in your ability to act, to make decisions, and to face challenges. It’s not being loud, flashy, or self-reliant. It’s not about perfection.

Ephesians 2:10 ” For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the things He planned for us long ago.”

Life can feel like a tug-or-war between what the modern world says versus what God says we are. At this time and age, it’s important to keep our eyes and hearts focused on God so we will know, The Living Truth.

How does overanalyzing steal your identity and your God-given gifts?

Overanalyzing means – the constant replay, questioning, doubting, and dissection our decisions, words and actions.

If you’ve ever asked yourself:

  • Did I say the wrong thing?
  • Am I too much? Not enough?
  • Why can’t I be more like…?

Overanalyzing can lead to paralyzing, insecurity, and self-centeredness. You can become afraid to act, and the fear will block what the Holy Spirit tells us and what God confirms. Insecurity is when you doubt your God-given gifts. You can get wrapped into judgment, people pleasing, or needing validation by others. Self-centeredness can get in your way when you focus on your flaws more than focusing on God’s bigger plans for you. The good news, God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

Continue to speak the truth over yourself, even when you don’t feel like it. Continue to seek progress over perfection, while you pray badly. As you go through life replace lies with Scripture. The Word of God is powerful and can tear down any false beliefs we have of ourselves. Be confident that when you being a good work, you will carry it through and God will equip you for every season in life.

Who we are, whose we are.
